BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for participating in, and ensuring internal testing of technical project(s), by helping design and test requirements in relation to internal software and system needs, under the supervision of a team lead, during the development and implementation phase to meet business units' requirements; acts within the direction of a team lead as a liaison between the development team and end users (e.g., clients, internal customers, etc.) to monitor changes to the system and potential resources to complete tests in a timely manner, with no impact on the current platform; contributes to design analysis, creation of reports, and other duties to ensure the project management team has feasible software and project requirements.
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Software Quality Assurance Analysis Functions - Perform a variety of quality assurance (QA) activities under the guidance of a department staff while adhering to established corporate and department policies, procedures, and deadlines
*Participate in meetings with the development team to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope and system capabilities to assist in developing the test plan *Participate in Technical reviews including design walkthrough reviews, design analysis, and software requirements feasibility *As assigned, develop a thorough and detailed test plan to be reviewed and approved to include load, mode, integration and regression testing and testing of programs functionality *Based on project assignments, participate in activities related to consulting with project leads and other project concerned individuals, this may include providing project leads with an estimate of the work involved with requested program or enhancement *Work as a contributor of the QA team to create test environments, run and evaluate results, testing for accuracy and accomplishment of defined goals, identifying all problems and inconsistencies *Contribute to the activities related to performing functional or automated test to ensure program
modifications do not exhaust resources, cause slowdowns, or response time delays *Act within provided direction as a liaison between the development team and end users to monitor changes to the system and potential resources to complete test in a timely manner *Support department staff in documenting the process, the test plans, and potentially end-user training materials *Participate with project leaders in the go-live activation to identify and then resolve any issues or concerns, as assigned provide on-going program support after implementation *Assist the QA team in testing programs in their entirety to ensure negative impacts do not result once program alterations are completed *Under supervision analyze and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical and physical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external check and controls, output, etc.
Project Participation - Participate in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects including preparing reports, material, documentation, and coordinating tasks * Create and maintain project files that are well documented and efficiently organized, ensuring files include documentation for each phase of the project which may include project calendar and support documentation detailing project activities, results, implementation, etc. * As required, provide project lead with status reports throughout assigned projects detailing project status and timeline
Team Interface/Customer Service - Establish and maintain a professional relationship with internal/external customers, team members and department contacts
Cooperate with team members to meet goals or complete tasks * Provide quality customer service that exceeds customer expectations and improves level of service being provided * Treat all internal/external customers, team members and department contacts with dignity/respect * Escalate to supervisor any situation outside the employee's control that could adversely impact the services being provided

Qualifications
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education *Either an Associate's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field or a Programming Certificate from a recognized institution is required *A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, MIS, or a related field is preferred *Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Experience *Minimum one year experience in business operations with an emphasis on testing or process/procedural documentation required
Technical * One year experience with a testing tool platform (e.g., Winrunner, Test Director, Load Runner, etc.) preferred * One year experience with hands-on programming in at least one programming language (e.g. C/C++, Pascal, TCL, ForTran, Python, C#, Java, Ruby etc.) preferred * Proficiency in technical writing (documentation, report writing, analysis reports) preferred
