Job Description
Position Overview
Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and computer systems. Works cross-functionally to understand business requirements, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed to facilitate accessibility and ease of use. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Gains familiarity with Software Engineering concepts, practices and methodologies.
Codes basic components according to standard protocols and coding guideline.
Assists in the implementation, customization and integration of more complex tasks under supervision of experienced SW Engineer.
With guidance, performs standard Software Engineering duties, including:
Identifying and automating manual tasks,
Contribute to converting legacy code to new code,
Ensuring new code meets established quality standards,
Identifying network, server or software bottlenecks,
Ensuring application of secure coding practices,
Evaluates performance impact of implementation
Assists with writing unit and system tests to provide coverage for common code paths.
Learns and applies industry and company Software Engineering standards, policies and guidelines.
Prepares and provides documentation for implementation and operation of own produced SW changes and programs, according to standard formats provided and supervisory guidelines
