MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews and analyzes projects' monthly financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules, general ledger entries, and other general accounting functions.
Provides support to WI-Asia project finance managers with accounting operations and systems enhancements, to respond to routine HQ accounting-related inquiries or support during field or donor audits..
Assists/provides capacity building training to WI-Asia project finance staff on identified gaps, including any support needed during project start-up or closeout, and travel to field offices in Asia Region to support financial operations as needed, when appropriate and circumstances allow.
Participates in recruitment of field project finance staff, as appropriate, as well as in conducting onboarding and orientation of new staff.
Support IT and project teams in the installation and configuration of new projects' accounting system and provide training on how to use the system.
Operationally supports project startups and establishment of necessary accounting procedures, controls and processes.
Supports project closures and be able to address any closeout issues especially closure of books, in-country bank accounts, final settlement of staff benefits, and other accounts.
Supports Internal Audits, Operational and other reviews, as necessary.
Monitors progress or status of audit findings and corrective action plans, if any
Other Duties
Support the application and coordination of WI policies and procedures, which includes the need to model compliance and properly represent management decisions.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team member, and a high level of professionalism when dealing with co-workers, WI partners, and service providers.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential documents and information.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
