Job Description
We are currently looking for Associate Process/Specialty Engineers. This position provides Process Technology engineering and technical support for simple systems.
Experience in the following industries is preferred:
LNG (Liquefaction, Regasification and Storage)
Refinery (Crude/Vacuum Distillation, Hydrotreating)
Offshore/Upstream (FPSO, Gas Processing)
Petrochemicals (Polyethylene, Polypropylene)
Utilities and Offsites (Steam, Condensate, Nitrogen, Air, Cooling Water, Demin Water, Fuel Gas, Tankage)
Advanced Technologies: Semiconductor Industry
Typical job duties and responsibilities:
May lead a team of several engineers to develop drawings and specifications for study, feasibility, FEED, EPC phases
Interface with Client representatives
Interface with Fluor discipline engineers to develop interdisciplinary drawings and specifications
Assist in the preparation of the following deliverables and activities:
o Simulation and Heat and Material Balance (HMB)
o PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams)
o P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
o Utility Summary
o Relief valve sizing
Preparation of the following deliverables and activities:
o Hydraulics (pumped and non-pumped) and line sizing
o Equipment sizing and specification for simple equipment
o Input process data on instrument datasheets
o Input process data on line list
o Depressurization calculations (Preferred)
o Flare header sizing and radiation calculations (Preferred)
Understand and follow process design basis, process design criteria, regulations and standards
Assist higher level engineers in performing required engineering functions
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and at least two (2) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge in the indicated preferred industries
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft tools - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with an EPC company in a process engineering role
Practical field experience in a process engineering role
Familiarity in process simulation tools such as Aspen (Hysys, Flare Analyzer), Unisim, Pro II, GT Pro
Familiarity in hydraulics tools such as AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, Pipe-Flo
Familiarity in Smartplant P&ID and Instrumentation
