Overview
IDC is seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual for an Associate Research Analyst focusing on the small medium enterprises/ businesses and start-ups, based in Philippines. We are seeking a results-oriented, analytical individual with at least 2 years of relevant background in either market research, consulting, journalism, marketing, or IT industry experience with understanding of the small-medium enterprises market in Asia/Pacific, including their challenges and IT technologies that this market will deploy.
Responsibilities
Supporting the creation of research contents such as document writing, white papers, infographics, info brief, video, etc relating to the digital SMB market
Interviewing technology vendors/buyers about their GTM strategy, products and services that cater to the SMB market
Supporting business development of consulting projects
Gathering information regarding technologies and vendors and end users
He/ she will also be supporting primary research with vendors and industry experts to acquire market insights in Asia Pacific, including partnering research efforts with relevant country analysts in the local IDC offices. Ideally this person will need to possess good communication and writing skills, able to interact with mid- to top-level executives, and be eager to develop a good understanding of the current and emerging products and IT technologies and their impact on markets in Asia Pacific.
Qualifications
Minimum university or college degree, BA, BSc or equivalent - IT, marketing, statistics, economics, or business degree will be preferred.
Written and verbal fluency in English is a must because the analyst will be interacting and communicating with other analysts and executives.
Apart from strong skills working with Microsoft Office productivity tools such as MS Word, MS Powerpoint and MS Excel, the candidate must have good analytical skill and able to deliver to tight timelines.
Candidate's understanding of concepts like omni-channels, digital transformation, cloud services, AI, will be an advantage.
The person must also be resourceful, independent and a self-learner.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
The candidate should have a Minimum college/ university degree - BA/ BSc equivalent with minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
Interest and basic understanding of current and emerging technology trends
Strong communication and business writing skills (English)
Questionnaire design skill
Numerically inclined and strong in analytical skill
Ability to work independent and collaboratively
Able to work with tight timelines and multi-task
Ability to adapt quickly
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and share
Able to function in a fast pace environment
