Position Overview
With our international business growth, Tencent Overseas Finance Centre is currently searching for an ambitious accounting undergraduate to join us here in Singapore. He/she will be focusing on the general ledger accounting duties, variance analysis, system / process improvement projects and external audit management. He/she should possess high interest level to carve his/her career path within financial accounting field and prior internship experience in accounting or external audit, with sound knowledge in IFRS and local GAAP.
Assist the seniors/managers in IFRS accounting and local GAAP adjustment, including preparation of journal entries
Assist in general ledger activities i.e. asset registers, treasury, intercompany transaction, loan/borrowing, payroll and employee entitlement etc.
Take ownership of financial control on financial master data, general ledger, including balance sheet reconciliation and analysis
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, best practices and local government regulations
Liaise with various departments and key business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, investigate variances, and respond to enquiries
Work with auditor, ensure the delivery of accurate and timely completion of local statutory report, note analysis, appendices, and relevant Board papers
Provide support and/or attend management board meetings relating to financial report approvals
Assist in the preparation of technical accounting advice and memos, contribute to major transactions including adoption of new / amended accounting standards, share-based payments, acquisitions, PPA, capital and debt raising etc.
Assist in establishing and maintaining financial statements model, templates, standard operating procedures, work papers, processes, and systems supporting the report deliverables across the team
Undertake systems projects i.e. BI, HFM etc. with the objective of creating efficiencies, and the automation of the reporting process
Take a pro-active approach to identify opportunities to implement process improvements in the full financial reporting process
Requirements:
Recent bachelor's / master's degree graduates in Accountancy; local undergraduates who graduate in year 2024 are welcome to apply. Interested undergraduates will be required to commit for full-time and part-time internship prior to their graduation.
Prior internship experience in external audit or accounting would be highly advantageous
Solid understanding of IFRS and financial statement disclosures
Strong ability to apply accounting skills in a practical manner to achieve problem identification / resolution
Strong analytical ability, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation experience
Personal attribute: demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently to deliver high quality outcomes under highly demanding and high pressure environment.
