POSITION SUMMARY:
Captures and documents Design Quality Guidelines, under Lead supervision and in coordination with Content Experts, for architectural design work for newbuild and refurbishment projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that Design Quality Guidelines, and Drawing Standards, are captured, documented and shared for the benefit of the broader team (internal and external) so that design deliverable materials are not only delivered on a timely basis, but in a high quality manner which reflects our culture and expectations.
Seeks guidance from Design project Leaders and Content Experts on unusual or complex issues as a feedback loop.
Fosters a forward thinking, proactive, and collaborative environment that brings all disciplines together and creates favorable results. Commitment to learning & growth of oneself and others.
Occasionally attends meetings with sponsors (clients) as an observer to the integration of the guidelines into our processes & raises any concerns to the Design project leaders.
Studies, collects, shares, and stores statistical information, and, analyzes and compares various ships and areas such as public vs. crew areas, outdoor decks vs. enclosed spaces, dining vs. entertainment spaces, etc., bringing forth observations, conclusions, and recommendations.
Creates presentations and reports as updates of work progress for upper management review. Must be strong communicator. Exhibits advanced capabilities in written, oral, and graphic media. Represents department and self in a competent professional manner
Participates in practicality reviews, to learn from content experts and to capture new/updated information in our Guidelines.
Effectively shares knowledge to others within the department and externally, frequently and consistently.
Collaborates with Manager of Design Business & Partnerships, so that latest guidelines are included in consultant's contract.
Stays current in industry trends and innovation through research and market knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years design industry experience required.
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Interior Design required, Architecture degree preferred.
Cruise ship experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to travel internationally or domestically 10% of the time.
Must possess skills in at least 4 of the following: AutoCAD, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bluebeam, Sketchup; MicroSoft Project is nice to know.
Highly motivated, efficient and great organizational skills.
Self-driven and proactive to seek information/material needed to complete task.
Understands when to be autonomous and when to seek guidance from Supervisor.
Must possess strong adaptability in our ever changing environment.
Collaborative in a group setting and works independently while maintaining focus.
Prioritizes while working on multiple projects, and multiple tasks under various team members. Fundamental understanding of time management.
