OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The WHO Western Pacific Region's (WPRO) workplace and organizational culture change process was initiated by the Regional Director's Office in February 2022, with the overall objective of improving staff well-being and WHO's workplace and organizational culture in the Western Pacific Region, in order to further strengthen WHO in the Western Pacific's ability to serve countries and areas in the Region. These efforts will be closely aligned with WHO's global initiatives on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), and Preventing and Addressing Abusive Conduct (PAAC).
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1. To provide overall support to WPRO's Workplace Culture Task Team's work, including:
a. to screen incoming correspondences, documents and reports and route to the supervisor/s with full background material; ensure their distribution and follow up on deadlines;
b. to draft/prepare general correspondences not involving policy or technical knowledge on own initiative or from brief instructions;
c. to initiate administrative formalities related to team's workplan, budget monitoring and implementation; processing of various contracts and documents, procurement of supplies and equipment request, etc. in the Global Management System;
d. to provide administrative support in the organization and arrangement of formal/informal meetings, consultations, workshops and training courses, including preparation of related files, recruitment of consultants, invitation to participants and logistics; coordinate with other administrative units in the organization of meetings such as with Meetings and Courses, Budget and Finance, Travel and Transport and the Global Service Centre;
e. to set up schedules or appointments for supervisor/s and visitor/s; to prepare relevant briefing folders for the supervisor/s;
2. To provide support in developing and implementing advocacy activities and preparing required materials, such as brochures and posters, to increase awareness of workplace culture and engage members of the WHO workforce from across the Western Pacific Region.
3. To provide support to the Regional Director's Office admin team if needed; and
4. Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary education.
Desirable: University degree in communications, business, administratrion, public health or related area.
Experience
Essential: At least five years' relevant experience in administrative support functions, preferably in a culturally diverse organization.
Desirable: Experience with WHO, other UN agencies or multinational organizations. Experience in supporting workplace or organizational culture change initiatives. Experience in preparing communications materials.
Skills
Good organizational skills;

REMUNERATION
WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at PHP 631,953 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
