Job Description
Responsible for the preparation of tender and contract documents, including BoQ's with the architect/project team and/or the client. Take on costs analysis for design and project work, including value engineering where required. Carry out feasibility studies depending on the client requirements. Perform risk and value management and cost control for design and project work. Identify, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Prepare tender documents, analyse tender responses, and make recommendations to clients regarding contractors and sub contractors. Negotiate and finalize contractual terms. Provide advice on contractual claims. Analyse outcomes and writing detailed progress reports including updating project cost plans and cash flow forecasts on a monthly basis. Value completed work, review contractor payment claims, certify as per actual progress and arrange appropriate payments with Client. Review and negotiate change orders with contractors. Negotiate final settlements with contractors at end of project and prepare final cost report for Client.
Experience and Education
Needs to have degree in Architecture or its equivalent. Will have minimum of 3 Years Post Graduate Experience. Must have advanced knowledge of construction contracts, tendering processes, bills of quantities. Must have time management skills to be able to meet tight deadlines. Must have intermediate knowledge of software programs for commercial requirements. Should have the ability to follow efficient and transparent tendering processes. Must have the ability to negotiate payments and change orders with contractors. Must possess excellent written and spoken communication skills. Must be able to assess tendering bids for value, cost and quality. Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM is required.
