Role Summary
As an Applications DevOps Engineer 2 you are responsible to develop tooling that supports our CI/CD pipelines as well as innovations relating to automation to support our wider delivery team within the IT Applications Org.
What You Will Do
Develop build and release tools and supporting systems and produce the associated documentation to ensure supportability
Ensure quality of work completed through code reviews and automated/manual testing
Monitor and improve the stability, maintainability and security of code produced through Continuous Integration; a focus on release automation and security and coding best-practices.
Deliver high-value and high-quality solutions, under guidance from the Team Lead and Development Manager, within a matrix-management structure
Incrementally improve system design
Collaborate with other developers to ensure best outcome for the team and focus on results and quality through Pairing, knowledge sharing, code reviews.
Provide 4th level support for delivered solutions and 3rd level support when required
Participate Root Cause Analysis investigations and Other duties and responsibilities as directed
Able to perform application admin and configuration task with guidance from senior member for the team
Able to follow and use operations templates and checklist
Is aware and able to follow ITSM processes and controls.
Demonstrate basic understanding of source control (GIT, BitBucket)
Able to work with DevOps tools (Bamboo, Octopus, Bitbucket, GitHub, etc..) and other relevant tools (Jira, WIKI, etc..) with guidance from senior member of the group.
Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, participate in training and knowledge transfer
Escalate any problems and exceptions that need to be addressed to the Senior member of the group or Operations management on a timely manner
Effectively communicate with peers
Develop skills via self-study or classes to enhance performance
Demonstrate behaviors according to IT Principles & Values
Understanding of coding fundamentals
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
4+ years of development experience using C#/.Net/Java
Experience in developing features for enterprise level applications
Experience in working under a structured project management framework-
fast learner - able to assimilate new technical skills/systems in a very short time
Ability to deliver work to schedule (capable to self-manage workload and priority effectively)
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
Excellent problem-solving skills
