Job Purpose
The SAP FICO Consultant play a leading role in analysing business requirements, facilitating the implementation and operational support of SAP modules and functionalities, ensuring cross functional and application integration to enhance Sophos business functionality and performance.
Main Duties
Analyse business process gaps, identify solution alternatives and provide guidance to business and IT stakeholders for selecting the best solutions for closing the gaps.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
You will be a subject matter expert in design, configure and development of SAP solutions against agreed and defined business requirements.
Estimate workload and contribute to process improvement involving code development and design to meet the required project timelines.
Assist the Team Leader in examining packages of work and provide realistic timescales for completion.
Complete work allocated within agreed time and quality criteria and provide progress reports on assigned work as required.
Involvement in change management and controls within your area of responsibility, including negotiation with other teams, as necessary.
Provide integration architecture guidance to functional teams to build functional designs, prepare the technical design based on specifications.
Lead and manage small projects.
Provide leadership to junior systems analyst and SME's assigned to projects.
Conducts solution architect workshops with business managers and work with end-users to determine the technical requirements.
Work closely with other 3rd party SAP Teams to define requirements and review solutions.
Provide support to end users and other SAP Team members
Skills & Experience
Essential
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related course required.
7+ years hands-on SAP FI experience
5-10 years of working on a complex SAP system environment.
SAP SD and MM experience would be advantageous.
Proficient in SAP FI: GL, AR, AP, AA, Tax Accounting and Bank Accounting as well as SAP CO, Cost Center, Profit Center and Internal Order.
Independently configure system in line with solutions designs.
Working alongside Business analysts to ensure requirements are delivered.
Facilitate SIT, UAT and cut-over during the life-cycle of the project
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentations at the same time.
Configure SAP system to meet client business requirements, including connection/integration points with other SAP Modules (SD, MM and PP).
Proficiency in creating functional specifications and change documentations.
Experience with integrations to 3rd party systems and interfaces.
Strong customer focus with good communication skills as role requires working collaboratively with our SAP SME's and wider teams.
Producing test cases, user training documentation and functional design documentation.
Perform testing and smoke testing of system changes and to assist in user testing of changes.
Participate in knowledge sharing with colleagues in SAP technical and related client business matters.
Playing an active part in Process Improvement, ensuring compliance with all relevant quality processes and procedures, including completion of all the specified quality records.
Ability to work independently, to meet project timelines and drive out resolutions to problems.
Good problem-solving capabilities with the necessary urgency & responsiveness to incidents, problems, and their resolution.
Multiple full lifecycle projects - rollouts, upgrades, divestitures, mergers & migrations.
Self-motivating and can initiate productive work plan.
Should be an excellent team player.
