Role Summary:
The Manager for Development is primary responsible for the overall process, quality delivery and management of system development within Solution and Delivery Team. Lead the team in providing strategic enabling support and advice to the development leadership team. Line managed, coach and develop the Development Leads (s) giving them responsibilities and mentoring in alignment with the defined process and work standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Process
As the overall process owner of Development Team, he/she is the primary responsible in defining, maintaining and improving the process, procedure and work standards for Development Team
Ensures that all member within the team has in-depth awareness and commitment in complying the overall Quality Management System (QMS)
Diligent and consistent in gathering information and interpret the data from a periodic performance and quality review to ensure issues and area of improvement will be addressed
Mandates and ensures that the process and deliverables defined within Development Team are executed accordingly
Delivery
Ensures maximum project visibility and compliance to the development process.
Works with the development team to ensure proper implementation of quality coding structure, standards and guidelines
Overall approver of all development deliverables in collaboration and coordination with the project manager and the CTO.
Should maintain zero or minimal defects on the developed software/system before endorsing to QA
Ensures the execution of development is in accordance to defined design of the Product Owners and Business Units.
Ensures complete documentation of development artefacts within the project
Mentors the Lead(s) and provides guidance through processes defined
Ensures maximum resources allocation and ability to plan capacity for all development work
Resource Management
Ensures that all personnel are well equipped and knowledgeable to all application / system used and managed within IT ecosystem
Ensures that there is a defined skill matrix in which all personnel should be aligned to
Ensures that all team member are prepared to be assigned and can effectively execute the required work from different projects
Ensures continuous learning of all resources based on the knowledge roadmap and skill matrix
Ensures that all resources has their appropriate KPI in alignment with organizational and team objectives
Ensures that all resources understand clearly the KPI being monitored with their respective lead/manager periodically
Ensures that all defined KPI for each resources are measurable through the defined KPI metrics
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
At least 10+ years of experience in SDLC with different kinds of programming language such as PHP, C#, .NET etc.,
Must have managed projects with knowledge of project lifecycle
Relevant work experience, particularly in IT management in banking or investments industry
Experience with and understanding of project management processes, strategies and methods
Experience in system and process documentation and project management and implementation
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both business-oriented executives and technology-oriented colleagues
Ability to negotiate a compromise among business executives and users with competing priorities
Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically, assess alternatives for short- and long-term initiatives
Good organizational and problem-solving abilities
Making plans to design new software and web applications including IOS and Android applications.
Monitoring progress throughout the design process.
Hiring and training software developers on the team.
Setting goals for the software development team.
Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
Ability to identify and resolve potential issues / problems
