Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
Participates in and sometimes leads some or all aspects of assigned information systems and/or applications development, support, and implementation projects.
May develop work plan timelines and manages work flows to meet project timeframes.
Develop:
Identifies, evaluates and assesses customer needs.
Creates the technical design specifications and assists in sizing technical requirements as well as resource needs such as data process map, time and cost estimates. Identifies the problems and recommends solutions.
Develops applications and tools that meet the specifications provided and accurately codes new or existing programs. Integrates solutions with the applicable processes, applications and systems.
Test and Deploy:
Evaluates, tests and documents prior to deployment.
Make solutions production-ready and deploys new tools, templates, reports or workflows.
Maintenance (Break/Fix):
Troubleshoots existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops fixes to correct errors.
Provides ongoing maintenance of applications.
Performance Management:
Evaluates existing applications and platform and provides recommendations for improving application performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications.
Documentation/User Guides:
Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results. Documentation must be completed before deployment is considered complete.
Assists in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems.
Standards/Quality:
Adheres to standards and procedures. Reviews modules for quality assurance and checks compliance with applications standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Technology Evaluation and Research:
May evaluate new application packages and tools and perform research on best practices.
Provides recommendations for solutions
Coaching/Mentoring:
Provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members
Other Duties:
Participate, assist and support FD&C and the rest of GFS in various development assignments, as may be assigned.
Perform all other duties that may be assigned
Team Engagement:
Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
Attend and participate in chapel services, daily and group devotions
Promote World Vision's values through example and hold others accountable for the same across the team
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Typically requires 3 - 5 years of programming experience with at least 2 years of those experience is on advanced programming techniques and application design.
At least 2-3 years of experience in technical end user support.
At least 2-3 years of experience in development life cycle of systems and technologies
Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated strong understanding of the following concepts: client and server operating systems, application software, programming, and networking.
Demonstrated strong understanding of development, database, testing and integration methodologies.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging information technology products, services and processes that are required.
Working knowledge on server and database administration, web content management
Able to design simple database and at least understand complex database design. Handled system design, programming and implementation.
Sound knowledge of networking protocols and equipment
Strong technical skills and experience in Microsoft 365 and especially the Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerBI)
Fluent in in written and verbal communication in English
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, middleware or object oriented analysis and design
VB, C#.Net, VBSripts & Excel Macros progamming / Systems Analysis & Design
Basic Project Management, Microsoft Windows Server Administration, SQL Server Administration, Windows XP/7, Lotus Notes, Sharepoint Online Administration, TCP/IP Networking, network equipment
