Purpose of the Job
The Application Developer, JAVA will develop software system solutions, apply subject matter knowledge and demonstrate technical/business insight with a product team scope.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure technical deliveries according to system and solution architecture
Development work in a team - collaborate
Communicate and solve conflicts
Be open, ask for help and seek review
Learning from peers in spite of seniority and expertise
Take responsibility, accountability and ownership
Adapt to new situations easily
Develop software according to specified software development process (e.g. IT security and testability governance etc.)
Make and maintain stylesheets for DITA
Ensure system performance optimization
Ensure code review according to quality standards
Train associate developers
Work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams - and influence others in the team
Work effectively in CI/CD pipeline (Continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD))
Provide input for knowledge sharing and communities across the organization
Provide input for developing software engineering expertise area
Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or equivalent work experience
Industry, market and business environment
Experience driving developed processes within Software Development
Ability to lead processes or projects
Ability to lead a business process within Software Development
Most likely to have 3-4 years of relevant work experience before entering level besides formal education
Technical, functional and professional
Solid knowledge of the plans, processes and activities within the functional area in Software Development.
Possess a great understanding of the relevant systems, for the Software Development area.
Absolutely must haves for JAVA
Solid Java backend developer with J2EE experience
Experience working with REST APIs
Understands J2EE frameworks such as Spring 4
Has development background on Angular 4 and Angular Material
Need to have
Good database skills with primary focus on DB2
Has worked with JPA and/or Hibernate
Has good Javascript skills
Has worked with Git source code management
Has experience in using Gradle as build tool
Has experience in NodeJS and npm
Nice to have
Experience in NoSQL such as Cassandra
Experience in MSSQL
Experience In working with MQ
Experience in JBoss
Experience in webpack is a plus
Has worked with Continuous Integration servers such as Jenkins
Antenna house XSLT
Dita knowledge
Knowledge of and preferably experience with:
Agile development
Test automation
JIRA or Azure DevOps
