Job Description
A Security Analyst 1 will be part of the company's frontline defense against network threats. Duties will include monitoring network systems for unwanted activity, initiation and resolution of security investigations, root cause assessment, risk assessment, monitoring intelligence feeds, proactively identify and adapt IOCs to improve defensive strategies, assist with the administration of security systems, and other activities which strengthen the company's security posture against an evolving threat landscape.
A Security Analyst will be self-motivated under minimal supervision, detail oriented, and will need to work in a team environment which includes non-standard shifts, participate in group tasks, investigation hand offs, peer training, global support for the company's IT staff and employees, and actively contribute to the betterment of the team.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate key network security skills:
Knowledge of enterprise class operating systems, hardware, applications, and topology
Knowledge of basic networking concepts including protocols, equipment, and topology
Knowledge of Network Security terminology, concepts, and practices
Knowledge of common threats such as different types of malware and attack vectors
Comprehension of system and network events logs
Troubleshooting and research skills
Knowledge of IT industry best practices
Job Requirements
Degree in Computer Sciences, Networking\Security, or equivalent experience
Prefer 2+ years of experience in a network security role or related experience
Administrative knowledge of common enterprise operating systems
Experience with query languages
Working knowledge of common scripting tools
Experience working with common security controls such as anti-virus, EDR, asset management, SIEM, firewalls, risk assessment, and ticketing systems
Desired Certifications:
CompTia Security Plus (Sec+)
EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
GIAC certifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)\CyberOps
