To strictly monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, including Sundry and Suspense accounts, under Accounts Payable, and ensure that outstanding balances are substantiated and cleared in a timely manner. Implement proper control on one-off and recurring manual payments and ensure accuracy and completeness of records for quarterly reporting. To manage and oversee R2P process and ensure target performance standards are met in accordance with the agreed SLA. To ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements on (1) Expanded Withholding Tax (on vendor payments) and (2) Creditable Withholding tax (on income payments) for the quarterly income tax returns. To ensure appropriate Documentary Stamps are affixed for all foreign currency payments. Manage regular update of Financial Reporting (APU) DOIs. Strategy To improve productivity by refining existing procedures, developing new procedures, automation and system enhancement. To apply anti-bribery and anti-money laundering controls and other relevant Group guidelines, as appropriate. To proactively communicate with units and vendors on matters relating to compliance with Group policies on payment processing and regulatory standards on withholding and reporting of applicable taxes. To assist units on queries related to vendor payments and staff claims and assist in reconciliation of accounts, as required. To assist in ensuring risks and issues are identified, escalated and resolved in an appropriate and timely manner. To perform ad-hoc assignments relevant to statutory reporting and payments functions. Business Financial Controller Finance Officers and Staff R2P team - Bangalore/Chennai Vendor managers/Vendors Human Resources Technology and Information Processes Ensure timely and efficient delivery of all Accounts Payable transactions, tax reconciliations and reports. Assist in expense management and control by ensuring that all expenses are within approved local and Group policies and standards before pay-out. Ensure that appropriate withholding tax rates are applied on payments to vendors, regulators, and other payees. Provide relevant information to Finance and other units of the Bank to support cost management activities. Maintain good relationship with various internal and external stakeholders. People and Talent Good accounting and operations background, preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Up-to-date knowledge of local banking and relevant tax regulations Analytical mind and ability to exercise mature judgment and tight reporting timelines Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment Proficient in MS Office applications Good oral and written communication skills Professionalism and ability to engage with Business/Function heads and CMT as needed. Risk Management Ensure that the unit is compliant with the relevant Group policies on Anti-bribery, AML, Manual payments, EUC, FCS reconciliation and substantiation, EUC, Healthy and Safety. Governance Ensure that the relevant Group policies and standards on Expenditure and Anti-bribery are adhered to at all times.
