The Role
As an ALM Trader, you will manage the asset and liability management activities of the bank. You will manage the bank's long-term Peso and USD assets and liabilities. You will manage the bank's Held to Collect portfolio and you will also manage the bank's Peso and USD liquidity position.
How you'll contribute
Gathers bank-wide data through email and phone calls and other sources of information to be able to estimate the bank's Peso and USD liquidity position.
Engages in money market activities through Bloomberg, Reuters, email, phone calls, and other means of communication to achieve the revenue targets given at the start of the year.
Administers Peso and USD transfer pool rate via email to guide the business partners in proper pricing.
Provides rates for long-term loans and deposits through email and phone calls to generate revenues for the bank.
Checks and verifies the management profitability report through email and phone calls to generate revenues for the bank.
Formulates and executes moves and actions through email and phone calls to maximize the accrual income and minimize the interest rate exposures of the bank.
Purchases PHP and USD bonds through phone or via chat to generate revenues for the bank.
Inputs all deals with Guava to reduce errors, increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's / College Degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, or any related field
At least 1-year relevant work experience
Treasury Certification is preferred
With a basic understanding of the co-dependent relationship of the Asset Liability Management team with all the other desks within the Treasury.
With understanding of Asset Liability Management. Has to be cognizant of all internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures including BSP circulars, SEC regulations, and market conventions
Can work with the other traders in Treasury, Compliance, Financial Control Division , and Risk
Ability to attain income and volume targets
