ALARM TECHNICIAN
 
An alarm technician is a professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, and other types of alarm systems. They work in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments, ensuring that alarm systems function correctly to protect people and property.
 
General Job Description:
Installation:
Install alarm systems according to the manufacturer's specifications and client needs. This includes wiring, configuring, and testing the systems.
Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure the alarm systems are functioning properly. This may involve replacing batteries, checking wiring, and updating system software.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose issues with alarm systems, such as false alarms or system malfunctions, and make necessary repairs to ensure the systems are operational.
Customer Service:
Provide instructions to customers on how to use their alarm systems, answer questions, and respond to service for troubleshooting or repairs.
Documentation:
All documents required for each account must be signed and file neatly after service to ensure efficient billing and avoid delays.
Authorized representatives and BM sign all documents needed and signed also by technician.
Compliance:
Ensure that all installed systems comply with the standards implemented by SSMI.
Qualifications:
Education:
At least 2nd year college of Electrical and Electronics Courses . Additional vocational training or certifications in electronics, electrical systems, or a related field is highly beneficial.
Certifications:
Certifications is an advantage
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in electronics and electrical systems.
Familiarity with different types of alarm systems and components.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Experience:
Prior experience in electrical work, security systems installation, or a related field is an edge.
Physical Requirements:
The job often involves working in tight spaces, climbing ladders, and carrying equipment, so physical fitness is important.
Communication Skills:
Communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with alarm systems efficiently.
Willing to travel Luzon Visayas and Mindanao
This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and customer service abilities. Alarm technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of properties by keeping alarm systems in optimal working condition.
