Brief description of duties and responsibilities:
• Graduate of a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, Major in Electrical Technology, OR
• Have completed a two-year electrician's course of instruction from a technological vocational (Tech-Voc) education or trade school with at least 2 years of apprenticeship OR
• Have completed a One-year electrician's course of instruction from a technical education and vocational school with at least three (3) years of apprenticeship
• Preferably a Registered Master Electrician / Registered Electrical Engineer/ Professional Electrical Engineer
• Those with TESDA NC II, III and IV certifications on Electrical Installation and Maintenance will be an advantage
• Must have experienced in generator set operations
• Has above average verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
• With positive work attitudes, initiative, resourcefulness and strong leadership qualities
• Able to work with minimum supervision
Preferred Qualifications/ Attributes:
• Maintain the operation of electrical system and the 165 KVA emergency generator set of the DOST-FNRI Main Building and the 75 KVA emergency generator set of the Pilot Plant.
• Repair / replace all defective electrical fixtures and install new lighting fixtures (pin lights), outlets, switches, air conditioning unit supply lines.
• Trouble shoot/ Install magnetic contractor w/ thermal overload protection to the motors, extruder machine, electric dryer, air compressor, Industrial exhaust fan and others.
• Repair/ replace telephone lines.
• Repair of water pump motor
• Monitor/Inspect all upgrading of electrical system of the DOST-FNRI Main buildings and the Pilot Plant
• Inspect and recommend repairs of laboratory and other plant equipment.
• Monitor the daily Meralco meter consumption and power factor capacitor meter.
• Recommend/ estimate bill of materials for the repair to be undertaken.
• Manages the building wiring
• Handles electric motor wiring and its protection
• Perform other related duties assign by the immediate supervisor, the Chief Administrative Officer and/or by the Office of the Director or her representative
