Job Description
Costing and quantifying projects
Obtaining market coverage for effective and competitive project costing
Mentoring junior staff to achieve required outcomes
Developing and managing unit and price rates
Cost planning
Preparing and submitting prestart project docs, including SWIMS
Project scheduling
Being Competent in searching for suppliers and contractors in Melbourne for quotations
Contractor Scheduling and engaging contractors
Material ordering and scheduling
Supporting and collaborating with site management.
Project cost maintenance.
Razing Purchase orders.
Razing Progress claims.
Expense reconciliation in consultation with accountant when required.
Taking incoming calls and responding or following up where required
Qualifications
Experience in Estimating within the Fitout and Refurbishment Industry
Advanced understanding and experience in interpreting specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability
Minimum 3 years' experience
Ideally have a building related degree/diploma or trade background.
Good understanding of the principles of most trades and services.
Strong understanding of: MS Office applications: Word, Excel and MS Project
Houzz Pro (highly desirable) - Estimating program/software
Advanced knowledge of the Standard Method of Measurement
Highly Desirable - someone with experience with AU projects/clients
