Accounts Receivable Officer
Role Outline
Reporting to the Finance Manager or CFO, the Accounts Receivable Officer will assist in tracking revenue and ensuring payments are received and accurately recorded.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Accounts Receivable Officer must perform a wide range of job duties and responsibilities. These may include, but are not limited to:
Verify and Generate invoices
Reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger, bank accounts, foreign currency payments
Receipting, allocation and reconciliation of payments to customer's accounts
Report on Aged Receivables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
Chasing up overdue payments via telephone and email
Resolving customer queries and issues
Reviewing credit applications and references and refer for approval
Solve problems regarding incorrect payments
Managing the Days Sales Outstanding figure
Assisting with month end
Producing monthly Aged Debtor Reports
Highlighting problem customers to senior management
Assisting the broader accounts team with ad hoc tasks
Support the month end process
Skills & Attributes
Accuracy and attention to detail when managing accounting figures and financial records
Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
Appropriate handling of sensitive information
Ability to prioritise and multi-task
Ability to build and manage client relationships
Ability to work autonomously, yet be part of a broader team
Excellent customer service skills
Team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple parties
Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Xero
