Job Title: Accounts Payable Officer
Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable transactions, maintaining vendor relationships, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
Review and verify invoices for accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Code and enter invoices into the accounting system with a high level of precision.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payment requests.
Vendor Management:
Maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Collaborate with vendors to obtain necessary documentation and resolve payment-related issues.
Expense Reports:
Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Reconcile statements and receipts to facilitate timely reimbursement.
Payment Processing:
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for payments.
Prepare and process daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payment runs through various methods (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
Account Reconciliation:
Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues on time.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
Maintain accurate and organized records, both electronic and physical, for audit purposes.
Reporting:
Generate and analyze accounts payable reports as needed.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve the efficiency of accounts payable processes.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable functions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Officer or in a similar role.
Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
