Education and Experience
BSC Accounting Major, preferably CPA.
Supervisory Experience of at least Ten (10) years or more
Proficient in MS Office, particularly in Excel & Power Point and knowledge of accounting software
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and National & Local Taxation, Regulatory and Statutory Requirements (SEC)

Overall Responsibilities :
The primary responsibility of the Accounting Supervisor is accounting, budget planning and control, cash management, treasury, and tax handling functions. The Accounting Supervisor supervises the accurate completion of the day-to-day functions of the accounting department. He/She ensures complete, accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting plus compliance with organizational and governmental policies and procedures.
The Accounting Supervisor's role will include:
• Responsibility for the supervising accounting professionals - direct reports
• Oversees calculating, posting, verifying, and typing duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.
• Leads most day-to-day operations of the group.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Leads and directs the work of others.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Typically report a manager or head of a unit/department.
The Accounting Supervisor generally has the following responsibilities:
• Review general ledger accounts, balance sheet and income statement schedules and the required adjusting journal entries prepared by accounting staff for accuracy and completeness.
• Recommending enhancements to general accounting activities to ensure compliance with organizational and governmental policies and procedures and to ensure the most effective and efficient operations.
• Implementing process and automation improvements to reduce reconciliation efforts.
• Directing the work of general accountants and administering personnel-related functions.
• Supervises all aspects of an accounting function.
• Develop an accounting system for the management of assets, liabilities, and transactions.
• Formulates accounting practices for general ledger, A-P, and
A-Rand assets.
• Evaluate the organization's and industry's practices on how capital assets are depreciated.
• Oversees the process and data flow between accounting systems and sub-systems.
• Consults on the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting process flow.
