We're looking for a well experienced Accounting Supervisor who will lead a team in charge of shared services, financial operations, financial reporting, and who provides assistance on audit and tax reviews. In this role, you will generate and ensure performance of activities of each team member, provide management with compiled financial reports, as well as review processes and initiate and/or actively participate in improvement plans and implementations.
As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members and report to the Manager. You should be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration with other teams. Ultimately, you should engage the team to achieve goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting
Report monthly to the Director on internal financial reports
Manage preparation of external reports, both financial and tax reports
Liaise with auditor, manage the end of year financial statement audit process
Accounting Process
Initiate and implement processes that promote team efficiency
Manage the team members' accounting processes
Budget Management
Assist the Director in preparation of monthly budget plan
Conduct monthly variance analysis between budget and actual expenditures
Employee Management
Ensure staff participate in appropriate training and professional development
Implement the Performance Management System
Ensure teamwork and co‐operation
Ensure safe work practices
Ensure a culture of continuous improvement
Set clear expectations
Recognize staff for their achievements and ideas, and provide consistent and timely feedback to staff regarding progress towards achieving objectives
Advice and Support
Responding to inquiries from internal and external sources
Provide quality training in accounting procedures, systems, processes and interpreting accounts and general financial management
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related courses
Minimum of 2 years working experience on a Supervisory role
Excellent English communication, both written and verbal
Experienced in financial reporting and operations processes
Specialist on complex and technical business matters
Has full understanding of the business processes
Ability to work with minimal amount of direction
Ability to motivate others
Good coaching and active listening skills
Ability to make decisions and to own the outcome
