Role OverviewThe Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of trust accounting across rental and sales activities, ensuring compliance with Australian trust accounting regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting general bookkeeping functions to ensure smooth financial operations within the business.Key ResponsibilitiesRental Trust AccountingProcess rental payments and manage funds within the trust account.Generate trust receipts and process disbursements to agents and managers.Perform daily, weekly, and monthly trust account reconciliations.Maintain and manage tenant ledgers, ensuring transaction accuracy.Oversee end-of-month reporting and disbursement processes.Sales Trust AccountingProcess deposits and final settlements for property sales.Manage daily activities of the sales trust account, including reconciliation.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for sales trust accounting.General AccountingAssist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.Prepare and generate financial and management reports as required.Ensure all accounting practices comply with Australian financial and trust accounting regulations.RequirementsSkills & QualificationsProven experience in trust accounting within real estate or property management.Strong knowledge of Australian trust accounting regulations.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Property Tree, Console, MRI, or similar).Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.Certificate IV in Accounting/Bookkeeping or higher qualification (preferred).
