JOB SUMMARY
Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions.
Responsible for various aspects of recording and reporting financial transactions. As an accounting specialist, you might handle general ledger bookkeeping, payroll tasks, bank statement reconciliation, or accounts receivable and accounts payable. Might also prepare relevant reports of certain financial activities and use accounting skills for problem-solving.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
Code documents according to company procedures.
Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
Graduate of any business course, preferably Accounting.
Experience in similar capacity a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Must be a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently.
Ability to understand transactional processes and implement improvements.
Must be a team-player / able to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to identify and communicate problems and discuss various solutions.
Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Accounting - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures.
Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Related Experience: Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations.
