Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries.
Ensure journal entries and financial records adhere to established controls, accounting principles and policies
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues, expenses, accruals, adjustments etc.
Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and supporting documents
Reconcile balance sheet accounts in Blackline and coordinate with appropriate departments for the resolution of any reconciling item.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reports (including revenue and expense trend analysis)
Analyze balance sheet account variances.
Prepare monthly balance sheet and post close documents.
Lead month-end post close and balance sheet review with the client.
Assist with audits by providing supporting records and documentation
Evaluate current accounting processes and propose improvements for operational efficiency
Assist in preparing statistical and monthly reports
All other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
BS Accountancy or BS in Commerce major in Accounting graduate
Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required.
Work Experience
Strong general accounting background especially on cash accounting and reconciliation with at least 3-5 years experience
Experience working with a US or multinational company; preferably a manufacturing company
Competencies
Hands-on experience in using accounting software
Excellent with MS Excel (pivot, macro, v-look up)
Assertive and a team player
Keen attention to details
Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
Strong understanding of the account reconciliation process
Strong understanding of month-end close process
Preferred Skills
Excellent English communication skills both oral and written
Experience with JD Edwards and Blackline
Proficiency in other Microsoft applications
