We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team at Edpuzzle, a leading edtech company trusted by over 80% of schools in the USA and millions of teachers and students across the globe. As a member of the Finance team, the Accounting Manager will be a goal-oriented, highly accurate team player and will help Edpuzzle continue to shape our high-performing Finance department.
To succeed, you will need to be a master of organization with strong attention to detail to achieve a month-end close deadline. Your drive to exceed performance expectations will contribute to efficiency and reduction of the month-end close cycle.
What You'll Do:
Manage Accounts Payable and the GL accounting team
Manage timely month-end close
Ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparations in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare journal entries in following areas but not limited to:
Revenue
Accrued expenses
Payroll
Fixed asset and depreciation
Internally developed software
Approve journal entries prepared by other accountants
Perform or review and approve revenue recognition analysis prepared by other accountants
Prepare or review and approve balance sheet reconciliation prepared by other accountants
Review and approve Purchase Requisitions that are submitted by Accounts Payable Accountants
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
Participate and lead new system implementation
Support the external audit process
Assist in tax preparation and filing
Requirements
Who You Are:
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in GL accounting is required. US company experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in accountancy is required. CPA is required.
Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and accounting policies
Experience in supporting finance executive such as controller, VP of Finance, Head of Finance or CFO is required.
Computer literacy is essential including but not limited to MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Highly organized and strong attention to detail
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills: ability to explain complex accounting matters to non-finance audience
Ability to follow accounting standards and company policies and procedures
Ability to manage multiple assignments, balance workload independently, and meet deadlines
Must be a dependable team player with a positive attitude
Bonus skills
Prior experience with QuickBooks accounting system and salesforce.com
Experience in SaaS or edtech company
Experience working with remote teams
Excellent communication skills: ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly
