The Accounting Associate role is instrumental in building the integrity of the financial information of the company and the group as a whole. As part of the Finance Team, you'll primarily be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financials. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work together to safe-keep the company's assets and maintain accounting controls.
Your role:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Ensure the accuracy of all AP and AR related entries
Perform weekly bank reconciliation
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedure
Treasury
Daily updating of Cash position reports
Ensuring that all bank accounts have sufficient balances
Payroll
Support bi-weekly payrolls to ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries
Research and resolve employee inquiries relating to payroll questions and issues
Respond to inquiries to internal groups such as HR and Admin
Work with HR and maintain the payroll systems and ensure accurate calculation of pay rates and withholding taxes
Fixed Asset
Ensure proper entries for fixed asset purchases, depreciation and write-off
Maintain fixed asset register
Responsible for reclassification or capitalisation into an asset or expense
Aid the HR and Admin function on tagging company assets
Perform Inventory count at least twice a year
Month End Closing Process
Responsible for journal entries on accrued expenses, revenue and prepayment accounts
Ensures all intercompany transactions are recorded to correct general ledger accounts and periods
Reconcile credit card transactions and follow up on documentation if needed
Creation of monthly account schedules
Compliance
Assist in monitoring compliance to all government agencies
Your skills and qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess:
A Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy
A CPA or equivalent accounting qualification is an advantage but not required
Have at least 2-3 years accounting related experience
Have experience working in a private company environment across multiple teams
Highly organised with the ability to work within set deadlines
It would also be advantageous if you can demonstrate:
Knowledge of Philippines Financial Reporting Standards
Have experience in payroll related activities such as payroll calculations and compliance in different government agencies.
Experience in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment
