The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all work activities, reports and processes in accounts payable and monitoring of delivery of reports and all accounting work related activities of his staff as well as providing support in the achievement of the Finance Division's goals and objectives.
Job Description:
• Expenses claims & Petty Cash for Head Office & Stores
• Monitor PCV Liquidations and Expense claims
• Rental properties / Utilities / Insurance-Monitor Costing rental, utilities and insurance billings-Review rental, utilities and insurance billing follow-up
• Payroll
• Reconcile bank statements by comparing transactions to the general ledger
• Posting of Accounts Payable Vouchers and ensuring proper application of payments
• Monitoring of Accounts Payable and Aging Report
• Bookkeeping
• Audits cash and cheque payments for accounts payable and other expenses.
• Calculating and Checking O.R to make sure payments, amount and records are correct.
• Analyze and forecast financial requirements and prepare timely accurate financial statements
• Resolving errors in financial reports and correcting faulty reporting methods
• Monitors advance preparation of forms and required payments of monthly, quarterly and annual governmental (BIR, MUNICIPAL PERMITS) requirements and remittances
• Ensures that required governmental requirements and payments such as Withholding Tax, VAT computation, Annual and Quarterly Income Tax computations are filed/complied/paid on time
• Safe keep reports and supporting documents related to company expenses
• Enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
• Propose improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Banking or any Finance-related course
• Being a Certified Public Accountant would be an advantage
• With at least 2 years of work experience handling accounts payable, financial statements and general accounting in a supervisory capacity
• Experience handling accounts payable in a retail industry with voluminous number of transactions
• With experience in handling accounting software and programs
• With solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
• Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)
• Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
