Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant is generally responsible to assist in the maintenance and performing responsible financial record keeping process and preparation of accurate financial information/reports necessary for an effective business operation. Answers questions and provides information and assistance to the other members of the organization and may provide lead direction within the area of assignment.
Job Description
Coordinates and processes information to ensure completion of assigned duties within specified timelines; monitors compliance with policies and procedures related to area of assignment, activities and responsibilities as follows:
Analyze different company accounts and prepare necessary journal entries
Process receipts and related documents for customer-related transactions
Prepare monthly accrual entries for various expenses, amortization and prepayment entries
Process disbursement transactions and prepare related vouchers and checks
Conduct monthly closing of books of accounts
Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT schedule for remittance
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly BIR returns and other tax reports
Prepare government remittances
Balances and reconciles various statements and accounts; analyzes accounts to determine accuracy of records and prepares reports
Reconciliation of transactions with partners and merchants
Reconciliation of bank transactions with operation system-generated reports
Monthly bank reconciliation and cash position report
Assists in preparing comprehensive financial, accounting, and statistical statements, analyses and reports
Balance Sheet
Income Statement
Performance Ratios (Liquidity, Profitability etc.)
Variance Analysis (Actual vs. Budget)
Schedule of significant accounts for disclosures in audited financial statements
Other reports as may be assigned from collaboration with other business units
Answers questions and provides information and assistance to other business units, provides information within the area of assignment, and resolves concerns in an efficient and timely manner
Liaises with bank officers, external auditors, consultants, vendors, partners and merchants for the efficient administration of accounting activities
Provides back up support for other accounting functions as required; provides assistance in performing other accounting related duties to meet deadlines; participates in special projects as assigned
Performs other duties as needed or required
Job Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
Preferably with at least 2 years experience specialized in Finance - General Accounting/Taxation or equivalent
Knowledgeable in using computerized accounting system
Proficient in basic MS/Google applications and tools
With good communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information
Hardworking, honest and keen on details
Maintains the quality of work with high level of integrity
Willing to learn new knowledge and skills
Can easily adapt to work environment
