Job Summary / Brief Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and high-level Accountant to join our Accounting team.
The Accountant will be responsible in the management and reporting of financial data of the company and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and accounting procedures and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of Financial Statements
Preparation of Income Tax Returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts
Preparation of FBT Returns
Preparation of Activity Statements - BAS and IAS
Reconciling bank statements on a periodic basis and performing bookkeeping tasks on a regular basis on Xero/MYOB.
Other ad hoc duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Establish and implement proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Keep track and verify accounts receivable and accounts payable
Conducts regular review of budget and provides guidance to optimize company's financial resources
Prepares the working template for the annual budget planning and quarterly forecasting
Serves as the first point of contact and subject matter expert on financial audits and examinations
Key Requirements:
Graduate of Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, management, or any related degree
Minimum of 1 year of Australian tax experience in public practice/accounting firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge in APS software is a plus, but not required
Can work with minimal supervision
Strong Analytical and decision making skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws
Strong leadership skills
