ABOUT THE ROLE
The Algorand Foundation is looking for a dynamic and crypto passionate Accountant who will be responsible for all tasks execution related to accounting, budgeting and finance. The day to day will entail the creation of financial reports and the execution of essential and impactful accounting processes for the Foundation worldwide. This role represents a golden ticket opportunity for a candidate who is looking for exposure to every process in the finance and accounting team at a blockchain company.
This role reports to the Finance Manager.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and develop general ledger bookkeeping entries in Accounting systems such as Excel and Softledger.
Create P&Ls, FP&As, Balance sheets and cash flow statements.
End to end preparation of monthly accounts for worldwide transactions and entities.
Process and track payment transactions for both Fiat and Crypto ensuring quality control.
Prepare and produce financial reports for high management.
Be a key player in the whole budgeting process, working directly with key stakeholders and vertical leads.
Contribute to the financial strategy of the Foundation.
Work with all levels of management and colleagues to ensure integration and improvement of financial and accounting processes.
Investigate and analyze variances with the business heads and identify solutions.
Create, develop and/or improve financial controls and procedures.
Requirements
KEY REQUIREMENTS
4+ years of post qualified experience with a degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Certification in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFC.
Experience working in Fintech, the Big 4, Blockchain, Crypto and/or Start-ups.
Expertise in FP&A, budgeting, financial reporting, international payment processing and bookkeeping.
Advanced knowledge in accounting software (Softledger), Excel and modeling tools.
Hands-on and proactive professional with ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in ad hoc projects.
Experience and knowledge of administration processes including ability for financial statements.
Detail oriented, analytical, with the ability to multitask in a high growth environment.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions/ambiguity.
Proactive and willing to add value and make suggestions that can improve Algorand.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication abilities in English.
GOOD TO HAVE
Experience with taxation in different jurisdictions such as: Singapore, Hong Kong, US, Ireland and U.K.
Passion and knowledge of the Crypto industry
Background in Crypto company accounting.
