The Accountant is an integral part of our team and will work in our Manila office and liaise directly with the Practice Leads and CFO in Singapore to manage the firm's accounts, both day to day and end of month / quarter. This will include submission of company accounts / GST and CPF in Singapore, and accounts for our company entities in Philippines and Thailand.
Being a mid sized consulting firm, the role is a mix of hands on day to day accounts and monthly / quarterly accounts preparation and submission.
You will also work with our Project Managers (PMs) to monitor the financial progress of projects and ensure they are invoiced on time and payments collected in adherance to contract terms.
You will run the monthly close process, payroll, reconciliation and monthly revenue recognition as well.
This is a full time position based in our Manila office.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Support Aquient's team including ownership of account reconciliations, accruals, contract analysis, billing, reporting, and revenue recognition
Collaborate with Engagement Managers, the Program Director and CFO to support the monthly close process EG GL, P&L, Balance Sheet etc.
Assist with reviewing and approving invoices & Credit/Debit adjustments
Prepare account reconciliations and adjusting entries to ensure that accounts are consistent, accurate, and complete.
Work in conjunction with the Program Director to support monthly payroll processing.
Utilise accounting system (Xero) to drive the billing and invoicing process for contracts.
Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PMs) and Engagement Managers (EMs) regarding contract documents, change orders, modifications, approvals, and any requests related to billing and / or vendor payments and project costs.
Review and process employee expense reports. Ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepare monthly invoices (draft and final) for billable projects, supported by detail charge reports and applicable copies of expense receipts (for T&M projects).
Resolve questions on invoices and interface with PMs, EMs and client counterparts.
Assess and pursue opportunities to maximize client billing. Discuss unbilled amounts with PMs to optimize billing opportunities for the period.
Follow up with PMs and client on outstanding accounts receivable balances.
Prepare special project analyses for the PMs and others.
Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconciliation efforts.
Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Program Director and CFO.
Requirements
Experience/ Background:
1 - 3 years' experience in billing/revenue recognition, preferably in a tech or advertising company
Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition accounting and standards in services industry
Experience submitting accounts, CPF and GST in Singapore a plus
Moderate to Advanced Excel skills required
Exceptional analytical and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical
Ability to take ownership of your workload and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Must be able to partner with the business as part of a cross functional team and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment
Xero and Salesforce experience is a plus
