Job Description
Responsible for monitoring all inventory transactions in the general ledger.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and statutory bodies .
Prepare budgets, manage cashflow and monitor performance against budget.
Costing and tracking of inventory. Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory.
Recording costs of raw materials, overheads and variable costs.
Must understand different types of inventory methods--such as the average cost method; last-in, first-out (LIFO); and first-in, first-out (FIFO)--and assist in choosing the best method for the company.
Determining inventory costs so that other divisions can determine selling prices for goods.
Assist with regular audits for all departments.
Analyzing reports to reduce costs and track variances to eliminate fraud and mis-management.
Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger and preparing monthly journal entries as needed.
Organizing physical inventory counts of all inventory on hand at least once a year.
Oversee this entire process and ensures that it is done efficiently and accurately.
Train national accounts staff to a high professional standard in all sections.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or similar fields.
Registered Certified Public Accountant.
Minimum of 2 years experience in inventory accounting in retail and distribution of FMCG.
Experienced in management information systems such as Oracle, Peachtree, Quickbooks, etc
