This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in supporting small to medium-sized enterprises, with a particular focus on businesses in the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations, and delivering accurate financial reporting to support sound business decisions.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:GST Management: Accurately track, manage, and report Goods and Services Tax (GST) across all business transactions.Tax Handling: Manage farm-related and general business tax requirements while ensuring full compliance with ATO regulations.Invoice & Purchase Processing: Process invoices and maintain meticulous records of all purchases.Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), manage Tax File Numbers (TFN), and ensure Single Touch Payroll (STP) compliance.Payroll & Superannuation: Administer payroll, including handling Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and managing superannuation contributions.Qualifications:Proven experience in accounting with expertise in Australian tax law and compliance.Strong understanding of financial needs specific to SMEs, preferably with exposure to the agricultural sector.Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA certification preferred but not required).Benefits
