Welders use a variety of welding tools and equipment to cut and join metals and other materials together. Using specialized equipment, to put together mechanical structures and parts with the utmost precision.
Shall have a working knowledge of basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction and fractions
Shall be able to read and follow simple to moderately detailed manufacturing operational instructions and shall be able to read/understand basic engineering drawings
Shall have a basic understanding of welding principles and be able to safely operate welding equipment and perform simple welding operations involving as a minimum TIG (GTAW) and PLASMA welding methods and other Conax accepted welding processes.
Shall be able to understand basic weld symbology and be able to; through visual inspection, identify acceptable welds and most major types of weld discontinuities
Shall demonstrate proficiency in welding of temperature sensors through successful initial qualification (and shall continue to maintain such qualification) to a minimum proficiency level of 85% of the basic requirements of TSD 17.012/TSD 14.019.
Shall be able to independently set-up and perform a variety of weld operations/geometries which are intended to function as non-structural, structural and/or pressure reta weqr8970=';klining welds
Shall be able to perform duties of lower rated Assembler classifications (including all types of laser welding as laser welding is considered an Assembler function).
Must be able to pass a visual acuity (vision) test and color-blindness test.
