Job Description:
A Waiter/Waitress main responsibility is to ensure that customers have an enjoyable dining experience. A Waiter/Waitress should have excellent customer service skills, should greet customers in a polite and friendly manner, provide them with menus and suggest seasonal specials. They also are the point of contact for bills and should perform several front-of-the-house duties such as cleaning the tables after customers dine in.
The duties and responsibilities of a Waiter/Waitress are but not limited to:
· Greeting customers as they settle down and introducing them to the menus
· Taking the customers' orders and delivering them to the kitchen staff for preparation
· Confirming that the food items match the orders and delivering them at the tables
· Inquiring if the customers are satisfied, giving bills and processing payments
· Working with kitchen staff to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
· Maintaining the cleanliness of the area
· Ensuring that the operational procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
· Attending regular meetings with Restaurant and Kitchen Manager to find out about menu changes and menu specials
· All other tasks that may be assigned
