Job Description
The Visayas Logistics Supervisor is responsible for providing efficient logistics support for the transport and storage of Pilmico products, raw materials, and spare parts through effective management of shipping lines, truckers, forwarders, as well as the constant monitoring and timely update of shipments. He/She must always be looking at new and better ways of providing better service to all our stakeholders.
Cost-Effective and Timely Deliveries
1. Plans and ensures timely delivery of Finished Goods and Raw Materials to the Visayas based on customer's requirements.
2. Processes booking requests and monitors schedules with local shipping lines and truckers or forwarders for Finished Goods and Raw Materials until they reach their destination.
3. Negotiates for the best price and payment terms for local freight, trucking or forwarder rates to deliver yearly budget goals. Sets service level agreements and corresponding terms and conditions for truckers or forwarders.
4. Ensures that containerized cargoes and tramping vessels are cleared within the allotted port free storage days to ensure no unnecessary demurrage or storage charges are incurred.
5. Verifies, reconciles and ensures billing documents of shippers, truckers or forwarders are complete and are in proper order to facilitate payment to service provider. Also provides trucking/shipping details to Finance for month-end processing.
6. Coordinates with Accounting and Sales about changes in mode of delivery as agreed with customer to ensure adjustments are reflected in the sales budget.
7. Identifies corrective action remedies for logistics-related customer complaints and coordinates with service providers and concerned departments' concerns about delays, rejects and returns. Also provides associated feedback on the course of action to customers.
Warehouse Management
8. Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, overseeing and enforcing personnel policies & procedures.
9. Ensures that inventory in the satellite warehouses is accurate.
10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Supplier Management
11.Secures renewal and completion of accreditation requirements on a yearly basis for services being handled.
12.Assesses the accredited supplier's competence under annual Vendor Performance Evaluation Rating wherein compliance with service level agreements are being monitored and reviewed.
13.Updates and maintains filing database for Accreditation and Vendor Performance Evaluation Rating and provides feedback to service providers.
14.Manages existing relationships with shipping lines, truckers, forwarders and customers for routes coming from Luzon to any destination regarding delivery requests and arrangements. Continuous sourcing of new service providers for the purpose of finding the most cost-effective and efficient logistics movement.
Supervisory Responsibility
15.Oversees renewal and completion on Annual Supplier Accreditation and Vendor Performance Evaluation Rating report.
16.Generates required reports by collecting, analyzing, calculating, compiling and summarizing information.
17.Supervise and monitors performance of the Logistics Assistant in all manners of the day-to-day operations to ensure that the Logistics Team is able to accomplish and meet its deliverables on time.
18.Conducts performance appraisals as scheduled and required. Identifies and recommends to VISMIN logistics manager the developmental training needs of subordinates.
19.Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
20.Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving Purchasing department's problem.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree holder in any business-related course.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least 3-5 years of experience in Logistics, at least 2 years as Supervisor.
