Video Editors are generally responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw material into a suitable, finished product ready for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Thorough and pays attention to details.
Knowledge of media production and communication.
Flexible and is open to change.
Communicate clearly back and forth with leader to anticipate and overcome challenges
Manage material such as camera/video footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects to produce a final film or video product.
Splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics and watching the finished product to catch mistakes before submitting it for review.
Work with creative teammates.
Job requirements and qualifications:
Video Editor job description should contain the following requirements and qualifications:
Hands on experience with graphic design and video editing software (Photoshop, Canva, Filmora)
General understanding of computers and digital equipment; and knowledge of new cutting-edge technology.
Ability to take and follow direction while also having a creative eye for improvements.
Resourceful in collating materials for the video output.
High internet bandwidth.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Fast and reliable computer with at least 8 GB RAM.
Comfortable working within US timezones.
Ability to translate ideas into a complete project.
Great interpersonal communication skills.
