Job Description
Overview:
The Technology Development Department encompasses 3 key groups Technology Systems, Product Performance & Acoustics and Simulation. This role sits within the Technology Systems group mainly working on fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and sensing technologies. Our Technology Systems Team is more than just a group of engineers - we are trailblazers in delivering cutting-edge technical systems (fluids, thermals, sensing technologies, etc) for Hair care and other new category products. Based in Singapore and the Philippines, our team is at the forefront of innovation, constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible in product development.
Our engineers take full ownership of delivering projects from early stages of a product until start of production levels of maturity, providing them with unparalleled exposure to the product life cycle. With access to a state-of-the-art lab, simulations, and analytical tools, they are able to harness their creativity and technical expertise to bring world-class products to market.
This position is recognized as a subject matter expert and looked upon to provide technical leadership in the wider organization and location. This individual is expected to lead cross functional team to resolve technical challenges that can span multiple projects and/or products, while demonstrating effective technical management skills. As a technical leader for the team, this individual shall provide crucial inputs towards the long-term technology roadmap for the team. The ability to effectively communicate and possibly take a leadership role in preparing and presenting complex ideas, design concepts, proposal, procedures, project and technical reviews is considered critical for success in this role. It is also desirable for individual to be able to guide and mentor the delivery junior members of towards projects.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Test Execution:
Conduct standard investigative and verification tests according to Test Methods (TM) independently without supervision.
Produce accurate results and deliver in timely manner to the analysis engineer in a clear presentation.
Proactively share results clearly and effectively from simple tests in engineering meetings with good understanding on the subject.
Provide understanding of the test results and able to spot any result deviation unprompted.
Laboratory Management:
Correctly utilize and maintain the equipment involved for testing and how the equipment is relevant to the TM's objective.
Adhere to lab processes for effective execution.
Manage the calibration activities to a number of lab equipment for maintaining accurate test results.
Identify equipment malfunction independently and perform troubleshooting on common causes of malfunction in a shortest time.
Actively contribute towards lab ownership activities such as 5S, external visit, and process/capability improvements.
Contribute towards H&S Committee, Risk Assessment, and Audit Actions.
Experimentation Capability Improvement:
Plan and deliver improvement projects related to one discipline (ie. mechanical, electronics, and programming).
Deploy the improvement into usage by all relevant stakeholders, through training, documentation, and presentation to the relevant audience.
Experience Required:
A good diploma from a reputable Polytechnic equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering.
Past working experience in test and laboratory environment will be preferred.
Experience in CAD software (eg. NX) will be necessary for helping create rigs.
Experience in programming languages in projects will be preferred (eg. Labview, Excel VBA).
Experience in Statistical Analysis (Inference, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and GR&R) will be an added advantage.
