Vehicle PDI Job Description
Job Title: Vehicle PDI Technician / Pre-Delivery Inspection
Department: Operations - Inventory
Reports To: Inventory ManagerKey Responsibilities
Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new vehicles according to manufacturer checklists and standards.
Inspect vehicles for damage or defects during transport.
Perform basic mechanical checks: fluid levels, battery condition, tire pressure, lights, brakes, etc.
Install accessories or options (floor mats, wheel covers, spoilers, infotainment updates, etc.).
Verify software and firmware updates where required.
Clean and detail vehicles (interior and exterior) to showroom standard.
Report any defects, damage, or non-conformities and coordinate repairs.
Ensure completion of all required documentation and inspection reports.
Assist in parking, moving, or organizing vehicles on-site.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
Experience in automotive service or PDI is preferred.
Knowledge of basic vehicle systems and components.
Ability to use diagnostic and inspection tools.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Professional driver's license (A, B, C,)
Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working outdoors and in workshop environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive Technical Certification (optional but beneficial)
Experience with light trucks.
Familiarity with OEM PDI procedures (e.g., Toyota, Ford, Tesla, etc.)
