A UTILITY DRIVER / BACKHOE OPERATOR is in charge of assisting the company with all transportation-related duties. Dropping and picking up company workers, collecting various items, products, and/or equipment, and maintaining an itinerary log to document work hours, travel time, and destinations visited are all responsibilities of the utility driver/backhoe operator. He may have to work on weekends or at night.
 
He must ensure that all transportation obligations are completed on schedule. Finally, a high-performing utility driver/backhoe operator should be able to double-check addresses and other transportation details before completing any pick-up or drop-off activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transporting company workers as well as other items, supplies, and equipment to and from designated destinations in a safe and timely manner. Assisting with the loading and unloading of supplies.
2. Maintaining an itinerary report sheet to track work hours, travel time, and locations traveled to. Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle's arrivals and departures.
3. Complying with all company policies, processes, and procedures, as well as traffic laws and regulations.
4. Performing routine checks and inspections on the company vehicle and reporting any issues or damages. Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours. Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing.
5. Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
6. Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance. Keeping the vehicle fueled and ready to use at all times.
7. Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, as well as participation in cross-training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Graduate
2. At least a year of experience as a utility driver and with experience in operating a Backhhoe
3. Licensed Driver (Driver's License Codes: A, A1, B, B1, B2, C, D)
4. With a clean driving record, working knowledge of local roads and routes, ability to lift heavy objects, adherence to safety regulations, customer service oriented, attention to detail, time management skills, adaptability to changing workflows, ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals, and effective communications skills
5. Can start ASAP!
