Job Description
The Opportunity
The Underwriting Assistant is responsible for accurately processing applications for Life Disability, Critical Illness, Health and Dental, and Personal Accident applications and provides underwriting and quality support as well as accurately processing insurance forms for Mortgage Creditor products and provides administrative support
Minimum Requirements to Hire:
EDUCATION: University or College degree - four-year health science (Physical Therapy, Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Psychology.
EXPERIENCE: Open to applicants with underwriting experience as long as a graduate of medical-related course fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
SCHEDULE: Amenability to work on morning schedules
LOCATION: Amenability to work in U.P. Ayala Land Technohub, Quezon City
HYBRID WORK ARRANGEMENT: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)
We are looking for someone with:
Knowledge of medical disorders/terminologies and disease management
Risk assessment skills (identifies and understands patterns of morbidity and mortality)
Ability to understand/interpret diagnostic tests
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
Strong attention to detail
Analytical and critical thinking ability
Good decision making and problem-solving skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, manage tight deadlines and address urgent cases
Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate within the team
Ability to work with multiple systems/applications
Nice to Haves:
Training or experience in Underwriting
Underwriting authority
LOMA or ALU exam/certification/designation

Responsible for reviewing applications and associated underwriting evidence
Responsible for analyzing, summarizing and classifying risk profile according to JH philosophy and underwriting guidelines
Responsible for managing aspects of underwriting process while pending underwriting requirements
