Ultrasound assistant supports the ultrasound technicians, greeting patients, answering telephones and handling paperwork. Ultrasound assistant also transport patients to exam rooms, and report any unusual findings to the technician. Additionally, ultrasound assistants prepare ultrasound exam rooms by ensuring the area is clean and properly stocked with required instruments and supplies. Ultrasound assistants must maintain patient confidentiality during routine handling of patient reports, records and files.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the sinologist
Assist the patient’s needs during the procedures
Transcribes the ultrasound results, dictated by the Sinologist
Transcribes the X-ray results
Prepares the machine before and after the examination
Encodes patient information to the ultrasound machine and computer
Prepares clean patient’s gown
Clean off the machine, patient’s gown and beddings after the procedures
Prepares the patient for the examination
Transcribes ultrasound results
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of BS in Radiologic Technology / BS in Nursing
No experience required
Computer Literate
Familiar to Ultrasound machine protocols; Medical terminologies; and Patient care management.
