Job Description
Treasury Operations is responsible for safeguarding the cash assets of the Company through a robust control environment and excellence in operational execution on a global basis.
The Treasury Senior Specialist Role will work closely with the onshore team for the execution of the daily cash positioning and forecasting activity to meet the current and future funding requirements of an account.
Role and Responsibilities
The role is primarily accountable for supporting the Cash Positioning and Forecasting processes timely and effectively using TMS. The role has a matrix reporting to the Finance Technical Lead in MBPS and Treasury Operations Manager in North America.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitor the daily dashboards in the Treasury Management System (TMS) to ensure that all expected files are loaded according to the daily process schedule. This includes the overnight/start of day activities, intra-day processes and reports, end of day schedules and monthly/quarterly reports.
Investigate and resolve any transaction reje cts or file integration failures. Escalate failures or rejects that cannot be resolved immediately to the Manager cash management, senior treasury analyst and/ or other designated team work with the designated team to troubleshoot the problem, determine solution and implement fix. This includes but is not limited to daily automated files, manual upload files, daily, quarterly and monthly outputs that are used by other systems for accounting, reporting or reconciliation.
Enter or upload manual Business Unit transactions and other manual transactions to the TMS within the stated time frame to ensure that all transactions are captured before the intra-day cut-offs.
Log into online banking applications, download statements or reports, apply stated processes to identify and record transactions that are required to be entered in the TMS.
Review and/or approve wire transfers generated in the TMS. Ensure wires are sent to the designated payment system or payment team for further processing.
Manually enter/or upload wires into exiting payments where there is not a direct feed from the TMS.
Review end of day accounting files and monthly interest capitalization files to ensure the data is complete.
Monitor designated group mailbox, identify emails that require action, manually enter transactions into the TMS as needed, and respond to emails where necessary.
Respond to Business Units queries regarding the excel based template used for manual BU transactions, manage and make adjustments to the excel template to improve ease of use and accuracy as needed.
Investigate and respond to queries from investment management, traders, treasury risk, accounting, settlement, CMO and reconciliation teams.
Develop new reports in the TMS or leverage existing reports already created in the TMS to simplify inquiries and investigations and drive further streamlining and simplification of existing processes
Complete new account forms and maintain portfolio inclusion lists. Liaise with operational banking relations or investment management teams to ensure correct data is entered for new accounts and that inclusions lists are current and accurate.
Work with the offshore systems administration and advisory project team (where applicable) to test TMS enhancement and code releases.
Develop expertise in using the TMS, recommend changes to existing processes, participate in and/or lead knowledge sharing sessions to build overall competency within the cash balances management team.
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES
Participate in Treasury related project initiatives
Prepare and review Treasury ERP documentations
Maintain policies and procedures including process controls
Provide support in communicating project plans and schedules to stakeholders (MBPS Treasury Operations)
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in accounting, finance, or business management
3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry
Knowledge of banking products and services preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and influencing skills.
Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient or with background in Treasury related systems
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. mastery of basic excel formulas Macro and VBA knowledge is a plus). Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Project.
Capable of building a business case for potential process improvements including cost/benefit analysis
Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
Participates in educational opportunities reads professional publications maintains networks and participates in professional organization to always be up to date on job knowledge.
