Description
Position Objective:
To effectively and efficiently monitor the actual daily liquidity position of the company and plan for short-term and medium-term liquidity requirements. To ensure compliance by the Company with tax filing and reporting requirements
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Treasury
A. Perform daily cash liquidity monitoring and management (check daily bank balances, and movements)
a. Prepare cash flow reports - actuals and projections, and ensure adequate funds for daily operational needs in coordination with Finance -Acctg Operations team
b. Coordinate with Investments if investment withdrawals are needed or when funds can be transferred for additional LT investment placements
B. Maintain strong relationships with bank Relationship officers and/or branch managers to ensure the Company's bank-related needs and services are provided adequately and GLAPI issues are raised to /discussed with and addressed by the banks adequately, including but not limited to:
a. Coordinate with bank counterparties for reversals of stale MCs, prepare LOIs to the bank
b. Be updated on features of Bank portals to ensure that these are optimized for use by the company
C. Be updated on available collection and payment facilities available in the market that can be used by the company as service to its customers
a. Coordinate with payment/collection facility service providers on the implementation of new payment/collection facilities.
b. Obtain necessary approvals (BOD, Risk Management) for the availment/implementation of additional payment/collection facilities
c. Coordinate with other departments in the implementation of the new bank and non-bank collection/payment facilities (IT, Operations, Sales, other Finance staff)
D. Assist in the SP process in the preparation of cash projections/forecasts
E. Control and monitor stale checks returned to Finance
F. Coordinate with Management/Corp sec on the updating of bank authorizers and check signatories
G. Maintain/update assigned balance sheet accounts (AR Bank advances, Unidentified PODs, etc)
H. Be updated on GHO issued Treasury related policies and apprise Management on requirements for implementation
I. Prepare reports to local management (Treasurer/CFO) and Regional Office as may be required
J. Assist as may be necessary for OR issuance function
K. Perform other functions as may be assigned
II. Taxation
A. Update knowledge of latest tax laws and regulations esp affecting the company
B. Prepare tax returns for various tax requirements of the company
- Income tax, withholding tax payables, withholding tax receivables, premium taxes, DST, etc
C. Coordinate the recording of tax-related accounting transactions
D. Maintain related records/prepare schedules for tax-related accounts
E. Perform reconciliation of SL vs GL for tax-related accounts
F. Prepare requirements relative to tax examinations and other tax regulatory requirements
G. Coordinate with concerned departments (IT, Operations, and other Finance teams) operational and systems concerns related to tax compliance requirements
H. Handle BIR requirements for tax assessments
I. Perform other functions as may be assigned
Key Performance Measurements:
• Deliver consistent and optimal investment returns at par at least with benchmark
• Adequacy of daily operating cash (at optimum level)
• Timeliness of Investment Reports
• Accuracy of recording and reporting of investment balances
Ideal Experience: 3-5 years in similar or related function
• With good communication skills
• Dedicated and open-minded working attitude
• Possess good interpersonal and presentation skills
Requirements
Minimum education level: Bachelor ́s Degree
4 years of experience
