Responsibilities:
• Works closely with Manager and the rest of the officers and/or team.
• Fully understands how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.
• Ensure deliveries are completed within designated time line.
• Hand-Eye Coordination: You will be operating a complex machine while trying to find addresses and observing other drivers on the road. You will need great hand-eye coordination to make sure you are accident free.
• Stamina: Long days on the road and lifting and moving materials (as needed) can all be part of your day as a driver.
• Good Vision: You will have to watch everything on the road for potential collisions, accidents and mishaps.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedure. Confirm contents of each load matches the manifest document.
• Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions, signs documents after checking the sales invoice and/or pick list with the dispatchers.
• Be available at all time if there's schedule of deliveries.
• Must be at the warehouse/garage at least 1-2 hours before the scheduled time.
• Must maintain good hygiene.
• Ensure that the dashboard camera is turned on before leaving and until you reach/come back to the warehouse/garage.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Follow all appropriate traffic laws and/or city ordinances.
• Gives timely reports as needed - to the General Manager and other Officers.
• Communicate traffic reports, delays, and status of deliveries to dispatch regularly.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Make safety a priority at all times.
