Job Summary:The Telecommunications Access Engineer supervises the development and implementation of projects and solutions, handles migration to new technologies, and ensures delivery ahead of time or within schedule. It manages resources and ensures that solutions are aligned with business, as well as with operations, strategy and directions.General Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning
Recommends standards, technical specifications and evaluation of feasibility of applicable technologies in relation to communications infrastructure
Ensures site preparedness prior to project implementation to ensure availability of Telecomms Access system for smooth completion
Evaluates and acquires resources needed for implementation of projects
Configuration Management
Maintains system configuration and ensures enterprise-wide stability and efficiency of the system during stability
Maintains and regularly updates records/information of the Telecomms Access System's hardware and software
Contractor & Vendor Management
Technical evaluation of bids, and formulation of technical performance measures
Contract/Service Level Agreement (SLA) administration
Monitors performance of contractors and provision of feedback to Procurement
Qualifications
Graduate of Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering; Registered EE or ECE is preferred
Preferably with CCNA Certification or its equivalent
Good communication and presentation skills
Knowledgeable in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
Good problem-solving skills including demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop, implement and document solutions.
