Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the Client's offshore staff and act as the key contact across different departments
• Prepare company accounts and other financial transactions utilising the company's systems
• Answer queries and clear roadblocks of other team members
• Review work of colleagues, management reports and other work
• Conduct best practice/efficiency checks
• Encourage and promote teamwork with all staff. Ensure that processes used are in line with ethical standards and procedural requirements
• Support less experienced staff members' careers and personal development
• Support team members, provide consistent recognition and encouragement and set an example by demonstrating high energy and enthusiasm
• Encourage a positive learning and professional development work environment
• Ensure the company's interests are maintained effectively and support management decisions
• Assist staff requiring technical assistance and support
• Assist with the professional development of fellow team members with training, coaching and support mechanisms designed to increase skill levels, if necessary
• Communicate effectively and cooperate in a professional manner with the management team and all team members
• Assist in the creation of opportunities for fellow team members
• Actively manage own performance by monitoring key performance measurements
• Be committed to the quality improvement process by participating in initiatives and making suggestions as to improvements and/or efficiencies
Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree in Accounting or Accounting background
• 5+ years end to end Accounting experience in any industry for a wholesale or large warehouse operations
• Experience in leading or managing a team
• Experience in any Accounting Software
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to coach, mentor and guide team members
• Confident to communicate with all levels of management
• Good business acumen
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Team player
• Team management skills
• Has a 'can do' attitude
• Knowledge or experience in any ERP system (e.g. Encompass, SAP, Oracle or similar) would be nice to have
• Experience in Australian Accounting including laws and taxation would be an advantage
• CPA would be an advantage
